I have no photo.
You don't want to see, really.
My poor flower/shrub beds have been sorely neglected over the past several weeks. I pick the giant Martian weeds when I see them and can run across the yard to pick them, but not the pickery ones. The other day there was one up to my shoulder (about 4.5'), and about 1 1/2 " diameter. Thank goodness the whole root wad came out.
I am still adjusting to new family schedules and my own energy issues, and I just haven't made a priority of my gardens, for which I apologize. I apologize to the plants, to my neighbors, and to my readers. Well, the neighbors not so much, since mine's one of the better lots in the area.
The hot, humid stretch this summer has really fueled the nasty weeds, and what are usually minor nuisance plants have this year tried to take over. I think I figured it out, and again, I'm blaming the rabbits!
They eat the weeds at any stage of growth, then they "drop" in the flower beds, the lawn, and wherever they darn well please. Where they hang out most is where the weeds are worst. Cause and effect. And destructive animal behavior.
They got to my square foot garden pots, and chewed off the tops of my carrots a few weeks ago. Those are coming back, I hope, but it's pretty much a wash. No onions, no beans, and the lettuce has dried up.
I'm a misadventurous marvel in the garden these days. I hope to catch a break in a couple of weekends, and catch up on the most offensive areas. Thanks for sticking with me.
